Once, I had the opportunity to meet Imam Khomeini and report to him on the activities of the Jihad [reconstruction and development efforts] on the war fronts. He angrily said:
“Why are you telling me this? Tell the people about it in interviews, on radio and television, and in the press, so that they may become hopeful in response to the counter-revolutionaries who claim that nothing has been done, and so that they can see how much work has actually been accomplished.”
