Unity always remained Imam Khomeini’s Red Line

Unity has not merely been a political chant or slogan from Imam Khominie’s perspective and worldview. But rather it was considered a prerequisite for the survival and strength of the Islamic society.Imam consistently undertook serious efforts to prevent differences of opinion from escalating into social rifts and strife since the years of struggle through his exile and following the victory of the Revolution under his leadership. Imam consistently time and again called upon everyone about upholding a single principle of unity in the face of the common enemy in all circumstance.He called for cohesion even when differences of opinion existed among the clergy and revolutionary forces regarding a range of issues such as the Oil Nationalization Movement. Imam advised the activities of certain intellectual currents, or the methods of struggling and forming a united front against the Pahlavi regime. Differences of opinion are natural from Imam’s perspectives and views. However, allowing them to escalate into a strife, conflict and division would be the greatest gift to the nation's enemies and serve their interests.

For this reason, Imam relentlessly tried to prevent internal differences within the Islamic community from turning into a debilitating divide, conflict and strifeRevisiting this perspective remains illuminating today;By revisiting Imam’s views and perspectives, it becomes clear that preserving unity and cohesion within a society will result in overcoming even the most arduous crises and hurdles.
