A professor at the Islamic University of Indonesia says Imam Khomeini has been the guiding light for Indonesian Muslim leaders
Professor Jumhari Makroof of the International Islamic University of Indonesia emphasized that the Iranian Revolution is considered a guidebook for Muslim politicians in his southeast Asian country.
He made remarks during an interview which was conducted by media section set up by International Department of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s works during Imam Khomeini’s 36th passing anniversary
"The personality of Imam Khomeini is well known to me for years. In 1979, while studying at an Islamic boarding school, I followed the news of the Iranian Revolution carefully through radio and television, and from very young age when I was a teenager, I was influenced by the influence of Imam Khomeini's words, statements and special expressions."
He further said as following:
"Back then, for many of us, Imam Khomeini was who stood up to Shah and led the popular revolution and political movement and was an inspiration. My friends and I always followed the news from Iran and had photos or paintings of Imam Khomeini in our boarding house rooms."
