Seyyed Hassan Khomeini in the letter to Pope brought into attention the relentless crimes being committed by the Zionists in Gaza.
In the wake of the recent crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the besieged Gaza Strip, Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini called on the pontiff to take the initiative to extinguish the fire of this "racist war" launched by the Israeli regime against innocent Palestinian civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip
The text and contents of the letters comes as following:
In the name of God the Almighty
His Excellency Pope Francis
With compliments and best regards,
I consider it my duty to draw your kind attention to the endless consequences of the great human tragedy unfolding right now in Gaza and occupied Palestine territories.
The horrible phenomenon of constant and relentless crimes and ethnic and religious cleansing being committed by the racist and apartheid Israeli regime is now taking victims from civilians and public places/
Hospitals, homes, mosques and churches have been bombed over the past few days, and the regime does not distinguish children or the elderly during its bombing campaign of the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Respecting lives of civilians is one of the foundations and teachings of all divine religions. But this principle has been eroded by the Israeli regime which shows no respect for the ordinary people, children or women.
This all has been ignored in the equations of political powers and the position of the oppressed and oppressor has obviously been replaced by the official support of the major world powers from the Zionist regime.
In such acute and serious conditions, it is expected that all religious leaders and pioneers of peace and coexistence take practical and serious steps to stop the apartheid regime of Israel from committing genocide and massacre of the Palestinian people
It is worthy to mention that the pursuit of ethics, justice and human rights is a priority for any religious belief. I ask you to take the initiative in the name of God and for the sake of the teachings of Jesus Christ, the prophet of love, sacrifice and love, to put out the fire of this racist war, so that all religious people, according to their religious responsibility, defend the rights of the oppressed. to play a role.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini
Health officials in Gaza say the Israeli bombardment has killed at least 4,385 people since October 7, when fighters from the Hamas resistance movement launched an unprecedented large-scale attack against the occupying Israeli regime. More than 14,000 individuals have also been injured.
The officials stressed that 70 percent of the fatalities include children, women, and the elderly, warning that the number is expected to soar as more people are being killed and wounded in the relentless Israeli air raids, and more bodies are being extracted from under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
