It has been recalled through a series of memoirs that Imam’s companions had serious concerns because the airplane carrying him had to pass through skies of the hostile countries in 1979 when he made landmark return to homeland.
Late Ayatollah Rafsanjani had recalled that Imam faced danger even after landing because the Shah’s puppet regime had been still in place and posed danger to Imam from safety and security perspectives.
After Imam’s arrival in Tehran, he directly went to Behesht-e-Zahra cemetery, the burial site of martyrs, where he had addressed millions.
On some rare occasion, we had lost Imam among such big crowds, Ayatollah Rafsanjani had said.
It was all result of good efforts by Imam’s dear son, Seyyed Ahmad and all other companions and divine blessings which kept Imam safe despite all conspiracies and threats by enemies and hostile powers at home and abroad.
