The delegation, which includes Muslim, Christian and Jewish religious leaders, met Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini at the Islamic Republic’s late founder’s shrine, which is located on southern suburbs of Tehran.
During the meeting, spirituality, dialogue among followers of divine religions and several other religious affairs were discussed.
It is mentionable that Imam Khomeini’s holy mausoleum has become a key beacon of religious, spiritual and cultural activities in recent years. The site is also visited by thousands of tourists, pilgrims, religious scholars and officials from across Iran and other parts of the world.
Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic regularly used to hold meeting with Christian and Jewish leaders from across the globe in order to urge them to support oppressed nations and resist colonial policies.
Imam through his historic speeches and messages had frequently called for followers of divine religions to become united under banner of monotheism to defend the rights of oppressed ones and challenge the policies being practiced by some aggressive powers.
He is also considered as a great reformist who revived divine values at very sensitive juncture of history when the world had been plunged into social and moral decline.
