Losing great leaders is one of the toughest tests for any nation. It’s the moment when societies fear falling apart.
But Imam Khomeini taught us something different. He always moved the focus from individuals to the path, to the school of thought. That’s how he kept the nation united through bitter events.Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said:"When the holy prophet of Islam passed, Imam Ali (‘a) reminded: 'If anyone was meant to live forever, it would have been the Prophet.' On the day our Imam left us — before many of you were born — we wondered about the future. Yet God’s mercy gave us a wise leader. And today, God’s mercy will, God willing, take the Iranian nation to a great victory in this stage too."
Yes, a great follower of the Imam’s path has been martyred. But the path does not stop. The Imam wrote in his last will: "The loss of one servant does not break a nation’s will."
Today, while Iranians mourn with deep emotion and stand firm against their enemies, they must keep their resolve unbroken.
