It was the first of November 1977 when the news of the martyrdom of Hajj Agha Mustafa Khomeini spread from mouth to mouth and had already reached the ears of all the people of Najaf. However, the Imam stood there like a mountain and gave some advice.
They had to convey the news to the Imam no matter what. Meanwhile, the Imam's reaction had astonished everyone. Hajj Ahmad Agha narrated this reaction as follows:
The Imam was so calm during the martyrdom of Hajj Agha Mustafa that when we told him the story, he slowly moved his fingers and said three times: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un," and the only sentence he uttered after the word "istrizh" was: "Try to do the recommended things towards him."
